BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
On 17 February 2011, UWB celebrated the birthday of Radha at state home for women, Nizampura. UWB has taken this initiative of celebrating birthday of children under Shri Vishnubhai Amin’s orphan and destitute project. With the permission of the superintendent, volunteers from UWB made preparations at the State Home itself for the celebrations. Games were organised and relishing food was distributed among the girls. This initiative of UWB aims at bringing a smile to those children who are not fortunate enough to enjoy the bliss of family life.

RECENT ACTIVITIES UNDER THIS PROJECT

This year, for the first time in the history of the project, an overnight tour was organised. Two tours were organised, one on 28th and 29th January, 2011 and another four day tour starting from 23rd February, 2011.

The places of interest visited during the journey were the Ashoka Shilalekh, Darbar Hall, Devalia National Park, Sakkarbaug Zoo, Adikadi Ki Vav, Buddhist Cave at Junagadh and Temple and Sea at Somnath.

The Educational tour programme is a yearly event undertaken for Shree Vishnubhai Amin’s Orphan & Destitute Project. The main Objective of this tour is to provide orphan children with a scope to explore new places, amalgamate fun with knowledge and teach them group living and give them a break from the tediousness of their routine life.
“Best from Waste” Skill Development classes were conducted during this vacation, under which 83 children learnt to make various art and craft antiques such as bags, Coasters, Pen stand, Wall hanging, Collage paintings, Book mark, and Jewelry making etc during a tenure of 15 days. The products produced in these classes were sold during the Navratri event at UWB stalls as a 25 years celebration souvenir kit.
