Orphan and Destitute
Shri Vishnubhai Amin’s ORPHAN & DESTITUTE PROJECT 2009

“I have come to realize more and more that the greatest disease and the greatest suffering is to be unwanted, unloved, uncared for, to be shunned by everybody, to be just nobody.” - Mother Teresa

With an aim of helping the society to get rid of this disease, United Way of Baroda undertook Shri Vishnubhai Amin’s Orphan and Destitute Project. Under this project different activities are carried out for the underprivileged children. These activities are not just limited to materialistic help but also love, empathy and quality time are given to them as donation.

Different activities under this project are:
Organizing yearly education tour for the Orphanage and Destitute Children. This time the tour was to Akshardham Temple, Kankaria zoo and lake on 18th Feb, 2009.
Kits that include school bags, water bags, books and other such necessary things are distributed to children in a number of schools.
Medical camps are organized for children for their complete medical check up.
Monthly birthday parties at birthdays at the Remand Home and at the State home for women managed by staff and volunteers.
