VDP ( Volunteer Development Programme ) – 2010
The Volunteer Development Program is a training program which focuses on life skill development of youth that results in productive, caring, and capable citizens for betterment of society. The main objectives of the VDP are to provide formal and non-formal practical learning, develop skills that benefit youth through out life, foster leadership and volunteerism in youth and adults. This will give the volunteers a little idea about their roles and responsibility towards themselves and well as in a broader spectrum, with the society.
A volunteer welcomed all the participants and given a brief introduction of United Way of Baroda and the sessions planned for the whole day.

The program was held on 5th September, 2010 at Gujarat Nature Conservation Society (GNCS), Sindhrot.

On this note of “Advocating Volunteerism”, UWB organised an exposure visit on 26th March 2011 for enhancing and developing the skills of the volunteers. This year, there were around 60 volunteers accompanied by the UWB staff. The whole team gathered at Dev Krupa Ashram in the morning where the volunteers were divided into three groups, each headed by a leader.
The three teams were given the following tasks :

Preparing Roads
Cleaning up of a Banana Farm
Moving harvested and dried crops to another place.

The various sessions organised on that day mainly concentrated on the following aspects :

Developing a volunteering attitude among today’s youth.
Creating an outlook of philanthropy among the youth.
Sharpening their caring and sharing attitude.
