United Way of Baroda has been organizing Inter School Essay Competition to create awareness towards social issues & thus prepare the society to be responsible to next generation. It has been really overwhelming to see the enthusiasm of the Schools and students participating for the competition all throught previous years. A Special Category has been introduced which included the Schools run for the Differently Abled Children.

All young minds exercised their intelligence and talents responding to subjects like.

Inter School Essay Competition for United Way of Baroda Rotating Shield–2006-07 received a tremendous response!! The Topics for the Inter School Essay Competition-2006 had been sent to the 56 English Medium, 129 Gujarati Medium, 117 Corporation Schools and the Special Schools in the city.

Organized from 4th to 6th February, 2005 at Polo Ground, Bagikhana, Vadodara, which was inaugurated by Dr. I. G. Patel, Ex-Governor, RBI. The Theme of the Mela was “Baroda Plus”. More than 1.5 lacs people visited the Mela. 600 children from different schools of Nagar Prathmik Shikshan Samiti, Vadodara had visited UWB Mela – 2005.

 

 
 

A Special issue of bimonthly Newsletter “Sambandh” covered the Inter School Essay Competition including the publication of all winning essays, award winners of United Way Mela – 2004 and Citywide Projects.

 
 

Held with the objective of making children of today responsible citizens of tomorrow. Around 39 Schools from Gujarati Medium, 23 Schools from English Medium and one from Hindi Medium School have participated for the Essay Competition – 2004.

The directory was published in January, 2005 which covered not only the basic information like, name, address and activities sectorwise of the NGOs (140 in number) but also covered special information on items/things manufactured by NGOs for sale and requirement of volunteers in specific areas.
